Smoldering

Only a month and half of school left. I am totally ready for summer break!

Well, happy Monday sort of. Today, I have a new polish that I just purchased over the weekend at Ulta when they had their 40% off sale. So here it is Revlon Smoldering.

Smoldering is is like a metallic-chrome frost with a grey base. It has swirls of really fine, foily shimmer. The picture do no justice but at different angles, you are able to see like the hints or teal/green and sometimes even pink. In real life, it is so much prettier! This was 3 coats. 2 would have been ok but my husband suggested 3 so I did that, which I barely ever do. The formula was not too thick or runny. Just perfect!

So what do you think of Smoldering? Do you own it?

Whimsical Cinderella

Good Thursday today! Tomorrow is finally Friday! Yay!

It's about 11:29 and I have class at 1. I am so tired! Today, my son woke up at 6:30 (which he never does) and he just wanted to hang out. I obviously have no choice but to accompany him. And now, that hour is catching up and I KNOW I will super tired in class. Anywho, on to the goodness.

First, I am sorry for the yucky photos. It was hard because we haven't seen any sun here for the past few days, So I worked with what I had - and that wasn't a lot.

Can you tell what beautiful polishes I used for this manicure? Well, for the base, I used 1 coat of Sinful Colors Cinderella, 2 coats of Revlon Whimsical then 2 coats of Out The Door in attempt to achieve a smooth top coat. So, what do you think? I personally really love they way it looks. Somehow it seems so magical. On the other hand, I feel like blue is such an odd color to hand on my nails. Maybe I'm just not used to it. However, I am really enjoying this mani!

What do you think of the combo - though you can barely see Cinderella?

By the way, have any of you used Whimsical? How was the removal process?

Twinsie Tuesday: Discontinued Polish

This weeks Twinsie Tuesday edition is of a discontinued polish.

How does someone really know if a polish has been discontinued or not? Me, eh. I wouldn't know. But anywho, I hope you enjoy this polish!

This OPI Jewel Of India. It is from the OPI 2000 Far East Collection. This is probably one of my favorite OPI polishes. It's so beautiful! I really love this color. It is a berry, rose color with with a purple shimmer. I hope you can see the shimmer, it was hard to catch since I took these photos with artificial light because the sun wouldn't come out and play. But this is 2 coats and it was super easy to apply.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post. Seriously, is there a site where we can know it it's a discontinued polish or if it's on the HTF list?

Cloudicure

Hello hello all!

YAY for Friday! Unfortunately I work mostly the entire weekend. Poo. Anywho. This is what I have for you today!

I am really enjoying this but I messed up a bit. Can you see the ring finger? The french looks horrible and my accidentally somehow went unsteady and painted that little spot there. I only did one opaque base coat which I regret not doing 2 because there are bald spots. I didn't have enough time for it to dry, so it turned out a little rough with a few dents.

For the pink base coat I used one coat of Fuschia by Elf. Is it just me, but I feel like the Elf polishes literally take forever to dry. Seriously. Then I used a Sally Hansen Black Out (black polish) for the first set of clouds, then added Sally Hansen Blue Me Away! for the 2nd set of clouds. For the ring and thumb, I used Blue Me Away! and then added white acrylic paint for the dots. I didn't want to use regular white nail polish incase if it smeared. So there you have it! I hope you enjoy it. Have a wonderful weekend!

What do you think of Elf polishes?

Zoya Reece

I have this lovely color for you to see today!! I feel in love with this as soon as I saw it. Reece can be described as a "rose.muave metallic duochrome. A frosty hint of gold creates a unique 'oil-slick' rose-gold look."

Hopefully you can see the metallic finish in this. It is just so very lovely. The picture does this polish no justice. It's so much prettier in real life. I used 2 coats. One coat would've been ok but 2 coats is just perfect. I currently have this on my toes right now and I absolutely love it! It probably has to be one favorite polishes right now.

I don't know if it's just me, but I don't polish my toes in the winter because it's always covered up but now that Spring and Summer is around the corner, I have to polish them. Not only that, but I'm the kind of person where my pedicure HAVE TO match my manicure. Are any of you like that?

What do you think of the rose-gold metallic finish?

Twinsie Tuesday: Jelly Sandwich

Good morning! This week’s Twinsie Tuesday Challenge: Jelly Sandwich.

This week's lovely theme were jelly sandwiches - on our nails! I should add that I sort of cheated. Although, I have never done a jelly sandwich; 1. Glitter removal is a horrid process, 2. I don't own too many jelly polishes. So hopefully you all would enjoy this. I personally feel sort of blahhh on it.

3D? Sorry for the cuticles. It was the top coat that I added too much. It flooded my cuticles and was peeling.

I sort of cheated because I used a tiny more opaque color for my base. However, I kind of like the way that this turned out. If you look closely at like it, it almost looks 3D, like the glitters are popping out at you. I really liked that part about it. The rest was so,so.

For the base I use Wet n Wild Tickled Pink. For the glitter I used Milani Gems. For the jelly, I used Sally Hansen Shell We Dance? I actually used a lot of layers. In the order of the way that I jellied this sandwich; I used 1 coat for the base coat, 1 coat of glitter, 3 coats of jelly, then 1 coat of glitter again, another coat of jelly then a top coat. A lot right? But I'm really glad I did the first 3 coats of jelly because above ^^ it looks 3D - to me at least. Oh, and does it sort of remind you of Candy Shop from Deborah Lippman? So, I guess the jelly sandwich wasn't too much of a fail eh? What do you think of it?

Have you ever tried jellying sandwiches before?

Golden Goddess

First off, I am really really loving this mani! Before applying on any polish, I had no idea what I was going to do but I went on ahead and randomly picked up a polish and painted my nails, erased them cause I didn't like them and literally I did this about 3 times before my hubby forced me to just pick a color and so I did. I was stuck with Sinful Colors Glass Pink. I sat there and looked at my other polishes for another 10 minutes and free handedly painted on Sally Hansen's Guilty Pleasure at the tips of my fingers then added a coat of Elf's Golden Goddess halfway down my nails. And voila!

You probably can't see the pink and gold flecks but it is absolutely beautiful. At first, I was like "what a mess" but now, I actually want to keep it on my nails and not do a new mani. Anywho, I hope you enjoyed it!

What do you think of the color combo?

Old Polish: Purple Vintage

I can't seem to recall where I saw a photo with a very similar design hence the fact that that was where this design came from. However, I really enjoyed this mani when I had it done. It almost looks vintage!

I used Revlon No Shrinking Voilet then with a jelly polish I added Sally Hansen Salon Manicure in Shell We Dance? I really LOVE the Salon Manicure but it's a little pricey for a drugstore polish. For a couple cents more, I could already purchase an OPI polish. Anywho, I hope you enjoyed this mani!

Do you think it's a little vintage?

Tiny Pink Filigree

Have you ever had one of those days where you REALLY wanted to do something awesome and fancy with your nails but just didn’t have the slightest creative juice in your brain? Well, I had one of those! So, I did something super simple. I was debating if I wanted to do something for Valentine’s Day but I had already done two manicures for that already. So this is what I came up with:

The polish that I used was the Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro in English Rose. For some reason, I just don’t like the way it looks on my nails. I feel like it dries out so much darker on my nails than how it really looks like in the bottle. I feel like this bottle was a waste of money. It looks sort of yucky next to my skin tone. I also don’t really like this design. So let’s hope I get some creative juice going soon!

Oh, and I came across this super cute bottle! In all my life of 20 years, I have never seen this before. Have you? I took and shoved it in my pocket then accidentally washed it, hence the label peeling on the top of the bottle. But isn’t it just cute or what? Sorry it’s not nail polish bottle!

Lastly, do any of you use a cuticle eliminator? If so, what do you use? How do you manage to maintain your cuticles during the cold winter months? Mine have been going crazy.

Do you own English Rose?

Pink VDay 2

Something easy and simple. A hot pink and a very sheen purple with little polka dots. Enjoy!

Another day. My baby is growing. He is going to be 6 months this coming week. Oh how I am so nervous and excited that each day he is growing. Soon, he will be asking for candy. *Sad face* He has to be my baby forever.

On the other hand, I am having such a hard time in Chemistry.

How do you stay on top of school work?
