Guest Post From Seriously Swatched

Hello all! I am back from a hectic, long and crazy weekend from Milwaukee and I am ready to take my blog into full swing again. Only 3 more weeks of school left and summer break will be here. Unfortunately, it's not too much of a break since I'm taking 2 courses, but it'll be good for me.

Anywho, I wanted to get this up sooner but I didn't have access to the internet where I was. However, I believe that you will enjoy this because I have a special guest post from Cordia, my fellow Twinsie from Seriously Swatched.

After preparing this post, I'm literally digging through my collection looking for this! Thanks Cordia! _____________________________________________________________________________
Hello! I'm incredibly pleased to be guest posting today for the wonderful Anna! I hope you enjoy my swatch and review of Sinful Colors Lavender!

THE PRODUCT:

Lavender is a really lovely creme Sinful Colors introduced last summer. This was an instant hit in the polish blogging community and as soon as I had it on my nails, I knew why. The formula is creamy, easy, and smooth. I used two coats for my swatches below.

PLAYING WITH THE POLISH:

Isn't it pretty??? Isn't it?? I'm a massive sucker for lavender polishes and this is a wonderful example. The blue tone really warms it up and makes it a more unique color, in my opinion.

THE VERDICT:

Oh my gosh, go buy this polish! It's amazing. And luckily, it's back in stores this summer already! Yay! I know I'll be pulling this one out again in the next few months as the weather warms up.

Thanks Cordia! I am seriously in love with this! This one is currently sitting in my untried pile but I can't wait to pull this baby out!

Also, thanks so much for the guest post! You're awesome! And for those of you who haven't already,  check out her amazing blog!

Thanks lady!

Twinsie Tuesday: Favorite Color Mani

I have to say, that this was so hard to choose! How can you seriously pick only 1 polish to show off and say that it's your favorite color? Technically, I could've swatched like 5 different polishes, but I choose one that I am really loving at the moment.

Sinful Colors Sweet Tooth. This baby came out in the Sugar Rush collection. I only own about 3 from the entire collection but this one, I love the most. It's a warm purple almost pink crelly kind of color. This one was perfect for this Twinsie post because I was stuck between showing off a pink and purple. I mean, we all know that red is a classic color.

Now, I don't have a favorite color or mani but I naturally tend to gravitate towards pinks and purples. I even think this one has a slight shimmer, but I couldn't really tell. Anywho, I hope you enjoyed this lovely!

Did any of you pick up any from this collection?

Breast Cancer Awareness by the Numbers

In honor of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Julep teamed up with  The Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation in hopes of raising breast cancer awareness and educate you with the changes that you can make to avoid it.

In honor of this month, I present to you my very first Breast Cancer Awareness mani!

I promise you, it's pink and white but for some reason, it looks like peach leaning orange. But it's really pink! I'm not sure why it is so very washed out. However, I hope you can make out the ribbon! I'm not too happy with the way it turned out, but I have definitely have had worse nail art mani days, so I can't be too hard on myself!

I used a white base by Sally Hansen and for the glitter I used Sinful Colors Queen of Beauty. For the rest of the pink and white, I used red and white acrylic paints in attempt to avoid any smearing.

With that said, I really hope you look through the photo above and inform yourself with this very important information.

Do you support breast cancer awareness month?

Sinful Colors Coupon Alert

If you don't have a Walgreens near by (because we all know we love the $.99 sales), there is a great Sinful Colors coupon circulating through the Rainbow's savings coupon booklet.

Currently from September 27 - October 10, you can purchase up to a limit of 8 Sinful Colors polishes for $1.48 with this coupon. Now I'm not sure if that is before or after taxes, but if you can't wait for the Walgreens sale, this is a great coupon to pick up!

Are you planning to use this at all?

Open Seas

Hello!

So today I have this quick and lovely post featuring Sinful Colors.

I absolutely love this color! Sinful Colors Open Seas is a soft green shade with gray undertones. I didn't know but it is apparently a dupe for OPI Mermaid's Tears. And I have been wanting that one so very bad. But thanks to Sinful, I no longer need it! You can check out that post here. It also reminds me of Zoya Bevin, but that will be for another day!

Open Seas was easy to applied and covered in 2 smooth coats. I love this one and might have to be on my top 10 list. Pretty crazy. I wore this for 2 days - and that's a lot if you're a polish fanatic like me (and I know I'm not the only one here!)

I purchased this on the Walgreens sale for only $.99. So if you're patient enough, you can definitely get this polish for half the price! With that said,

Would you rather have Mermaid's Tears or Open Seas?

Twinsie Tuesday: "Best Deal" Polish

This was hard.

First of all, I am honored to announce our newest Twinsie addition! Maribeth from Obsessive Cosmetic Hoarders Unite. Welcome lady! I hope you enjoy your permanent stay! I look forward to your future Twinsie Tuesday posts! So please give her a warm welcome!

So on to thhis weeks challenge, it was: "best deal" polish, one that we purchased on clearance or sale.

And yes, you know it! Sinful Colors.

Now this is color accurate ^

I purchased this lovely on sale at Walgreen's for only $.99 + tax. A full size .05 fl oz bottle for $1.07? Really it doesn't get any better!

Sinful Colors Fig is a plum-my color with a slight shimmer. Fig we perfectly opaque in 2 coats smooth coats. I was a little hesitant to pick this up because I was afraid that I might have something similar, but for only $.99, who could say no?

But yes, this was hard because I have had a few very good polishes on sale/clearance and no, not just the ugly ones. Sometimes I can catch some OPI's at $4, half price and China Glaze at $2. I couldn't decide so, I just choose Sinful Colors since it's most easily accessible to everyone, I hope.

So, what do you think of Sinful Colors? And what's your best sale/clearance polish?
Anna

I wonder what my Twinsies' best sale/clearance polish was!

Kim-pletely Glass Pink

Good morning it's Wednesday! Half way done with the week, or so they call it "hump" day.

Don't you just love the name? Totally fit for her. Anywho, so that is what I have for today!

This one was probably one most wanted polishes when the Kardashian Kolors released their polish line. I know some people who paid $12-$15 for this polish. This is not your normal sheer jelly-looking pink. I actually picked it up because of the hype. But it's a pale milky pink with shimmer but it has beautiful iridescent blue/purple glassflecks in it!

I know most people did 4 coats but I switched it up. For the base I used a coat of Sinful Colors Glass Pink then 2 coats of Kim-pletely in Love. You can't see in the picture but under the perfect lighting you can see Glass Pink shining through and you can see the beautiful gold specks. I love the way it looks but I don't think it's to die for. So I am thinking about putting it in my blog sale. We will see how that goes!

Do you own Kim-pletely in Love or any of the KK colors from NOPI?
Anna

Also, I just have to share this with you because gas prices are going crazy!

Everyday I only hope to see gas being sold at the dollar store!

Whimsical Cinderella

Good Thursday today! Tomorrow is finally Friday! Yay!

It's about 11:29 and I have class at 1. I am so tired! Today, my son woke up at 6:30 (which he never does) and he just wanted to hang out. I obviously have no choice but to accompany him. And now, that hour is catching up and I KNOW I will super tired in class. Anywho, on to the goodness.

First, I am sorry for the yucky photos. It was hard because we haven't seen any sun here for the past few days, So I worked with what I had - and that wasn't a lot.

Can you tell what beautiful polishes I used for this manicure? Well, for the base, I used 1 coat of Sinful Colors Cinderella, 2 coats of Revlon Whimsical then 2 coats of Out The Door in attempt to achieve a smooth top coat. So, what do you think? I personally really love they way it looks. Somehow it seems so magical. On the other hand, I feel like blue is such an odd color to hand on my nails. Maybe I'm just not used to it. However, I am really enjoying this mani!

What do you think of the combo - though you can barely see Cinderella?
Anna

By the way, have any of you used Whimsical? How was the removal process?

Twinsie Tuesday: Green Polish

Yay!It's that time again! Twinsie Tuesday! This weeks edition: green polish (week of St. Patrick's Day).

I honestly had no idea that St. Patrick's Day was this Saturday. I've never been the person to celebrate it - I actually never have my entire life. What do you usually do to celebrate this day? Anywho, green polish on our nails in honor of St. Patrick's Day!

Sorry for the late post, the funeral has got me messed up.

So, it looks really blue but the flakes really aren't. Anywho, I used Orly Lucky Duck in 2 coats. I think one would have done the job just I wanted 2 anyways. Then I used Sinful Colors Green Ocea and China Glaze Snow Globe at the tips. So what do you think? I think it's pretty ok. I couldn't catch the green side of the flakes, which really annoyed me - so sorry.

Orly Lucky Duck applied so perfectly, like butter! I love those kinds of polishes. Green Ocean was super chunky and dented up my nails, although it's such a pretty flake polish for only $1.99! I don't know if you can tell, but it was hard to apply. Snow Globe was fairly easy. Much easier than Green Ocean. And viola!

So what do you think?

Swatch Sinful Colors Pandora

Hello hello good weekend! I wish tomorrow was Saturday again.

Today, I have got a beautiful swatch for you to see! I just recently purchased a few polishes from the Sinful Colors Castaway collection and today's swatch is Pandora.

This is a tiny bit more color accurate.

Pandora is such a beautiful color it's sort of an orange almost rusty sort of color. It's so hard to describe.  It also has a very subtle sheen shimmer. Hopefully you are able to see that above. I am really enjoying this color. It's such a pretty pop of color for a grey rainy and snowy day - that's the way it's been here lately where I live. The only problem I have with this is the formula and application.

Can you see? The index finger? To the right it's sort of piled up. If I pushed/brushed it out anymore, it would have flooded my cuticles. And I absolutely could not have that. My thumb was even worse. When I applied the top coat. it literally pulled the not-so-dried polish area to the tips of my nail and ruined it entirely. So I had to repaint it. Besides the horrible application, it's a beautiful color!

Do you have the same problem with the Sinful Colors?

Reverse French Mani

Hello there! Sorry for my so very late post.

Lets get down to business! I went to Walgreens the other day and purchased a few Sinful Colors from the Castaway collection, few as in 3 bottles. Nothing else was really caught my attention. However, this one was one of them.

This polish is called Zeus. You can't really tell but this has a beautiful purple shimmer. Unfortunately, it doesn't really show up on the nails. It's so gorgeous in the bottle! I was a tiny bit disappointed. But I really enjoy looking at the bottle. I might just use to this to franken and experimenting to see what I can come up with. Anywho, I used 2 coats. Surprisingly, at1 coat it was already pretty opaque. Then I used China Glaze Icicle for the french at the bottom. I like the way it turned out. I'm just not all that used to it. It's a tiny twist, but I'm liking it. One thing I have say, this is like my 10th bottle of buying a Sinful Colors nail polish and for some odd reason, they all seem to be thick in application for me. Does this happen to any of you?

Oh, and look at the snow we just received this morning! It's the most snow we've gotten since. Winter. Beautiful isn't it?

Anyways. I hope you all had a wonderful day!

What do you think of the unexpected reverse french?

Golden Goddess

First off, I am really really loving this mani! Before applying on any polish, I had no idea what I was going to do but I went on ahead and randomly picked up a polish and painted my nails, erased them cause I didn't like them and literally I did this about 3 times before my hubby forced me to just pick a color and so I did. I was stuck with Sinful Colors Glass Pink. I sat there and looked at my other polishes for another 10 minutes and free handedly painted on Sally Hansen's Guilty Pleasure at the tips of my fingers then added a coat of Elf's Golden Goddess halfway down my nails. And voila!

You probably can't see the pink and gold flecks but it is absolutely beautiful. At first, I was like "what a mess" but now, I actually want to keep it on my nails and not do a new mani. Anywho, I hope you enjoyed it!

What do you think of the color combo?

Comparison Dupe: Zoya and Sinful Colors

If you don’t know, I recently just purchased my first few bottles of Sinful Colors because Walgreens is having an awesome deal where they're only $.99, so check it out!! And so, I have heard (haven’t googled it or looked up) the rumor that Sinful Colors Kissy is very close to Zoya’s Charla. At first without looking at Charla, I thought: “no way could they look closely a like.” Then I went to the store, purchased it and sure enough when I compared the two, they were pretty close. I could definitely say dupe for this one.

 Zoya Charla
 Sinful Colors Kissy
 The results
Index & ring: SC Kissy
Middle & pinky: Zoya Charla

I could not believe it. Dupe for sure, in my opinion. From a far, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference but if you look closely at it, Kissy is a tiny bit darker than Charla, hence the fact that Kissy looks like it has a slightly darker base. I felt like the application for this one was a little goopy. I don't think you can see, but at the tips of my nails, they're a little clumped. Since this is my first time trying out Sinful Colors, I am not sure if it it was the specific polish or whatever it may be. Zoya is definitely more shiny on the nails and applied beautifully and easily. No complaints. With that said, the fact that Kissy was only for $.99 and Charla for about $8, I would recommend Kissy besides the fact it applied a little goopy. However, I still very fond of Charla.

Which one would you rather purchase?

Sinful Colors Haul

I was shopping the other day and saw that my local Walgreens had a sale where Sinful Colors had their nail polishes for only $.99 a bottle. As if $1.99 weren’t cheap enough?! I decided to pick up a few bottles for myself since I didn’t own any. And for the price, why not? Who could go wrong with a polish bottle for only $.99? The sale for Sinful Colors will be ending the end of this week 02/18/12. So pick up a few bottles if you haven’t already! This is one heck of a deal!

Do you plan to purchase is Sinful Colors this week? If you already own them, do you like them?
