Darling Diva Antares

I love me some Darling Diva Polishes! Most of all Carrie! Oh she's the best!

This is Antares from her Halloween collection.

The guiding star for the Guardian of the Watchtower of the West. Primary Element of Water.

Rochelle is the witch large and in charge of this watchtower. It is naturally thought because she is the competitive swimmer that she was naturally drawn to this watchtower. The color scheme behind this polish is the true Wiccan colors for this watchtower.

 Look at all that goodness!

Before a topcoat of glitter.

After a coat a glitter.

Antares is a blue jelly base with various blue and orange holo glitters as well some some blue and orange metallic glitters (some square) and blue to green iridescent shimmer.

Doesn't she look beautiful? So juicy! Yummy sandwich, ready to eat!

You can't see too much of the iridescent glitters in here since I did a jelly sandwich, but it's much more visible in real life, as well at the holo glitters. I am planning to play with it some more so you can see the iridescent glitters and the true goodness of this polish.

Likewise, this polish was amazing! The formula was a bit thick but nothing a littler polish thinner couldn't fix. Application was smooth and finish was not bumpy at all.  I was actually really surprised how long this stayed on! Because I loved it so much, I kept it on for a week! There was obvious tip wear but it didn't peel off, at all!

With my previous positive experience with Carrie's Darling Diva Polishes, my expectations are pretty high and her polishes exceed my them by far! I love them and highly recommend them!

You can purchase Darling Diva Polishes at her Etsy shop here. Her polishes retail between $8 -$12. You can also "Like" her Facebook page to keep updated on her shop and future polishes here

Do you need some Darling Diva Polishes?

Giraffe

Here's something fun and cute. Hopefully you like as much as I do!

If only giraffes were this baby cute in real life!

Now this was pretty easy. This mani was inspired a while ago when I was working on a Twinsie Tuesday animal inspired mani and this came to mind but I decided to use the other one.

For the pink base on the middle and ring finger, I used Zoya Areej. For all the colors of the giraffe, I used acrylic water based paints. I only have the primary colors, so I mixed them to create the color I need to create this cute giraffe.

Oh and sorry for the weird angle.

Well, I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend!

What's one of your fav animal inspired manis?

However, isn't that a cute plate? With animals? I love it!

At first I couldn't get it to come off right but it was so easy once I figured it out. You simply cover the image with polish, scrape off the excess and plop it onto the stamper and stamp it on your nails. They don't come with instructions but they are so easy.

Seriously, the images are so cute. The packaging with these product were also very good. I also really like the qulatity of the image plate, as I could tell that it was not cheap. It seemed very sturdy. I highly recommend these. These lasted as long on my nails as any other regular polish. I had no problem with the the kit or image plate. I also hope to purchase some of my own!

Days Late Twinsie Tuesday Post

Hello all!

I have been gone for days again. Sorry. Life is happening, and I am sure you all know how that can be.

In the mean time, I hope you enjoy my boring Twinsie post today.

As many of you already know, this past Twinsie Tuesday challenge was: color of your car. My car color is boring and basic, but I love my car!

Yup. It's just a plain old white car. It's a family car.

For my nails again, I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White Out in 2 opaque coats. That's why I love the Xtreme Wears. I am also proud to say that I have used up half of the bottle! That really doesn't come around! I mean, how many bottles have you ever actually finished using (excluding any bottles that you may have frankened with)? This one however is becoming a bit goopy but I am sure it's nothing a thinner can't fix

This picture is not mine, but I have the same exact one. 2007 Honda CR-V, white, all wheel drive. Fun, eh? I used to drive this before my baby though.

Again. this photo is not mine. But I used to drive a Civic Si. What can I say? Gotta love them Honda's! I loved the color of this car. And I have to say, I miss this car a lot. Now, if I were still driving this car, the polish that came to mind was:

(All three photos below are not mine.)

Sinful Colors What's Your Name. This is a black base with tons of blue micro glitter shimmer. This perfectly describes how the Si looks like.

Anywho. That's all for now.

What's the color of your car?

If you haven't already done so, check out the color of my Twinsies' car!

Darling Diva Polish Regulus Review

So, I wanted to wait to do some reviews on the lovely Darling Diva Polishes since I cut my nails down to nubbins this past weekend, but I just could not wait to show you some of her lovelies! I was so excited, yes, very!

And if you haven't already seen my previous DDP review, you can check it out here!

My new polish bestie, Carrie from Darling Diva Polish and I have been exchanging emails and texts and have met up a few times, and I can not even explain to you how sweet she is! We polish talked for over hours! Seriously! Not to mention, she has a stash to die for! I'm not joking! Like melmers full of Deborah Lippmans and hard-to-find OPI's and China Glaze's. I sat there and petted (is that even a word?) her lovelies. Oh and I died a little over there - I was in polish heaven!

Now I'm totally getting side-tracked. Sorry.

This gem here is Regulus. Regulus is a part of her Halloween collection inspired by the true Wiccans colors. Regulus is the guiding star for the Guardian of the Watchtower of the South. Primary Element of Fire.

Playing with the lighting. Check out those purple iridescent glitters!

Regulus is a reddish jelly base jam packed with purple iridescent glitters and green glitter squares. There are also large red hexes interspersed throughout. This was only 2 smooth and buttery coats with no base/underwear. I topped this off with Bettina Base/top coat. Isn't she lovely? Check out those red hexes!

This one is definitely one of my favorites. The red jelly base, purple iridescent glitters, large red hexes and it applied like a dream! It just can not get any better! And I love how the green square glitters almost look black but they're really not. Need I say more? Seriously, glitter-jelly goodness!

The best part is yet to come!

You can purchase Darling Diva Polishes at her Etsy shop here for only $8! Some are $12. But seriously, an awesome indie for $8, that doesn't come around enough.

You can also "Like" her Facebook page to keep updated on her shop and future polishes here. Also, she is having a 1000 Likes on Facebook giveaway which you can enter here, and her prizes are pretty awesome. They include 5 prizes:

  • 1st Prize will be a $50 gc to Caribou Coffee (or Starbucks, pick your poison:) and 5 polishes of your choosing from my available stock this will include polishes not currently offered for sale if I have them
  • 2nd Prize is a $25 gc to Caribou or Starbucks and 4 polishes of your choosing.
  • 3rd Prize $15 gc and 3 polishes
  • 4th Prize $10 gc and 2 polishes
  • 5th Prize $5 gc and 1 polish

Now if I were you, I'd head over there now!

What are some of your favorites from DDP?

Twinsie Tuesday: Rainbow Mani

It's Tuesday! You know what that means! It's time for some Twinsie Tuesday! This weeks theme was a: rainbow mani.

I had a bit of a hard time. I couldn't make up my mind. I didn't know if I wanted to do an actual rainbow or what. With that said, this is what I came up. It's probably not all that unique but I had a fun time with it.

Please excuse my nails and cuticles. It was a tough weekend and I didn't have time to give them a little TLC and they look pretty beat up. Not to mention, I totally just cut them down to the nubbins. It was a long weekend.

Also, don't mind the lighting and all, I'm still fiddling with it!

For this mani, I used acrylic paint for all the colors and mixed whatever I needed for the colors. I then topped it off with 1 coat of Out The Door.

I had a lot of fun coming up with this though I am sure you have seen many dotticures around.

Also, don't mind the lighting and all, I'm still fiddling with it!

What do you think?

Have you take a look at my Twinsies' rainbow manis?

Hiatus

As you can see, I have been away and neglecting my blog for far too long and I apologize.

This weekend has been long and tough. It felt like it was never going to end.

For many of you who don't know, my mother-in-law passed away this Saturday from lymphoma and cervical cancer.

I've never had a great relationship with my mother-in-law but I do value her, a lot. She is the mother of my husband after all.

So again, I apologize for my absence. I don't know when but hopefully I will get back to blogging and commenting back on track. In the mean time, I thank you in advance for your thoughts and warm wishes as well as understanding my circumstance.

Thank you so very much,
Anna

Twinsie Tuesday: Copycat Mani

First off, I wanna wish a happy happy birthday to one of the sweet ladies from our Twinsie group: Tara! Happy birthday doll!

This weeks theme has got to me my favorites since I have joined in on the Twinsie Tuesdays. As you know already, this weeks challenge: copy cat mani.

So we were also given names from our Twinsie group and we were suppose to recreate a mani that they did. With that said, my secret copycat mani was: Maribeth!

Now this was her mani:

And this my copycat:

I honestly feel like my mani wasn't as well executed or as cute as hers but hey, it's the effort that counts right?!

She had so many awesome manis that I wanted to copy but I choose this one because of the color combo. C'mon! Black, white and pink! It doesn't get any cuter than that! I wish I would've done a bright pink so that it would stand out like hers but I think I like the soft muted color.

Sorry Maribeth. I have totally butchered your nail art mani.

What do you think?

Check out my Twinsies' copycats!

Leopard Print

This is just something simple and easy. It's a busy weekend for me! Got a full day on Saturday and church on Sunday! Then back back to school on Monday, boo. Fortunately, school seems to going well so far, yay for that!

This has got to be one of the easiest nail art techniques that even a nail art noob can do! I'm definitely a noob at nail art, and somehow I managed this!

For the very bright looking blue, I used Orly Skinny Dip. It's such a pretty color! It has a slightly purple shimmer in the bottle but not at all visible on the nail which is unfortunate. For the gold, I used Ulta High Roller and some acrylic black paint.

Well, that's it for now. I hope all of you have a lovely weekend!

Don't forget to check out my 2 giveaways! Click here for the Julep giveaway and here for my 350 followers giveaway!

Have you tried doing the leopard print?

Darling Diva Polish Review

I have been very fortunate to be given the opportunity to review a few polishes from Carrie over at Darling Diva Polish. She sent me 3 very beautiful polishes. Not 1 but 3 to review!

Not to mention while sending emails back and forth, I found out that she lives in the same state as I do! Not only that but she lives only about 20 minutes from me too. How awesome is that?! I don't know too many polish lovers, so once we found out we agreed to meet and do some polish chit-chatting. I am so excited and looking forward!

With that said, check these lovelies out!

L-R: Carrie, Tiny Bubbles, Anime Day

Carrie is a new iridescent glitter in a pale lavender/pink base.
This is 1 coat of Carrie layered over Julep Morgan with only 1 coat of Out The Door.

Tiny Bubbles is a water themed polish in a teal jelly crystal glitter filled base filled with lots of different sized and shaped white, smaller sized pink, blue, and holographic glitters. This is 1 layer of Tiny Bubbles over Sation Oh My Oceania! with 1 coat of Out The Door.
You might be able to see a little shrinking, but I am not sure where that came from since none of the other 2 polishes did not appear to have any shrinking.

Anime Day is a polish mixed with different sizes and colors of matte and holographic glitters.
This polish may be a bit tinted slightly pink.
This is 1 coat of Anime Day layered over Sally Hansen CSM Back to the Fushcia with 1 coat of Out The Door.

Truthfully, I can not begin to explain to you my love for these polishes! They are all gorgeous and were very easy to apply. I had not a single problem with them. I am very impressed with the quality and performance of these polishes and will hopefully soon be placing an order of my own once my "no-buy" until September 10 passes by.

You can find and purchase Darling Diva Polishes on her Etsy website here. Most of her polishes retail for $8.00 USD. You can also "Like" her Facebook page here to keep up with any updates.

Which of these 3 is your favorite? Are you thinking about placing an order?

Twinsie Tuesday: Fugly Color

This weeks challenge was pretty simple: fugly color.

Firstly, it was hard since I already posted a polish that I truly did not like a while ago and I haven't really encountered one since. So, for this challenge I choose a polish that I really didn't like but it worked and it looks ok as a polish. I do think that it's a nice polish but I have to say that it's not a polish I would reach for again.

Ok, so it's not the pink but the glitter top coat. For this mani, I used Wet n Wild Fergie Tonight's Gonna Be A Night. It was a thick formula but polish thinner did the trick! I really loved it in the bottle but not so much on my nails. I wish I would've looked up some swatches before purchasing. But it's almost the same as, you know? When you go shopping and you see something that looks totally awesome but once you try it on, you're thinking like "what?!". Well yeah, that was definitely me when I tried this one on.

For the base, I used 1coat of Sally Hansen CSM Back to the Fushcia. I absolutely love this color. The formula and especially the wide brush. It's just lovely!

So what do you think? Do you own this bottle?

Makeup readers and/or giveaways (Suggestions)

So I currently have a 350 Followers Giveaway running right now and I have gotten a few comments stating that they would like to see some makeup giveaways.

As I first started out this blog, I intended it to be a personal-just-blog-whatever type of blog, but I ran into this polish blogging community and totally fell in love. With that said, as you may see, my blog is mainly devoted to nail polish. But I am wondering, how many makeup-junkie-lovers do I have reading this blog of mine?

How many of you would like to start seeing makeup reviews and/or my thoughts on certain products? That being said, this would be the only reason why I would consider giving away makeup products in the future. As it would be sort of awkward to giveaway makeup when my blog is not related to that area.

So readers, let me know what you think in the comment section below!

Thanks,
Anna

Friday Nite Parti

I hope all you lovelies are having a great weekend!

So originally, I am suppose to be posting my PCOS awareness post but somewhere, somehow my pictures are missing. And that really sucks because I spent a good amount of time working on it. However, if you are interested in learning about what PCOS, my Twinsie Nory, she blogged about, and you can check it out here. There are also other Twinsies' that are participating in this awareness, so please be sure to check it out!

This is my very first Barielle swatched and I have to admit that I am not too impressed.

This was 2 weird, smooth and creme-y coats. It was sort of goopy which made it a bit hard to apply. It was somewhat manageable but the outcome, meh. Not quite worth it.

Barielle Friday Nite Parti is a vampy muted berry wine color. I personally think it's a great transition between summer and fall. But who am I say since I don't follow the trends.

I do admit that the color is very pretty but one that is unique.

What do you think of this?
Anna

Also, I apologize for my lack of posts this past month as I have only posted 13x's. That is totally not normal but I am catching up! So thanks for patience and loyalty!
