Twinsie Tuesday: Something New

Ever just have a bad swatch day? That was definitely me. My nails just didn't want to cooperate. Horrific. I kept smudging everything. It took forever to dry. Just a bad day. On top of that, I couldn't get a good picture. Someone tell me I'm not the only one who gets this?

Anywho, Somethine NEW! This was gifted to me recently from my older sister and I'm really enjoying this shade. So instead of something actually new, I wanted to do this one a little differently. Hopefully you enjoy my interpretation!

You know I love my OPI's. This is Berry Berry Broadway. A gorgeous bronzed berry shimmer. These are my kind of polishes. Not a creme but not too in-your-face type of polish. This is 2 coats. Unfortunately I kept bumping into everything it was just bad. None the less, I love this polish!

Have you done any polish hauls lately?

Twinsie Tuesday: Something Blue

You know I love me some indies!

This is Hare Afterglow. I absolutely love and adore this combination of glitters with the blue base. However, the consistency of this polish was so thin. So very thin. Just this, took about 7 coats and obviously time in between to dry. This was also a lot more sheer than I thought it would be. Maybe I was a little impatient though, I so almost felt like I wanted to do a different blue polish but I love this one so much. One other thing that I couldn't get over was the fact that it kept pooling in my cuticles. And as a blogger, you all know how horrific that is. Besides the thin formula, I'm really loving this!

With that said, do any of you have a solution to fixing thin nail polish formulas?

Twinsie Tuesday: Holiday Gift

not sure what im doing but just uploading a pic...

-ricky

So DH got it to work. Finally!

Anyhoo, HAPPY Tuesday! Hope you'll enjoy this!

This week's challenge was given by another Twinsie as a gift- or a nail/mani challenge. My gift came from Marisa over at Polish Obsession. My challenge was a Christmas nail art mani. And hopefully you can tell, they're suppose to wrapped up Christmas gifts. I haven't done any nail art for a while so I couldn't find my brushes. But this was fun and really inspired me to start blogging and doing nail art more often again. So thanks Marisa!

What are some of your favorite Holiday things?

Twinsie Tuesday: East vs West Coast Swatch Off

Hopefully you all enjoy our swatch off!

I'm actually really located in the Midwest but I belong to the West part, so our challenge was to swatch our favorite shimmer. I was actually thinking of doing a Shimmer indie brand but I just received this in a swap so I was excited to swatch it!

Essie Pink-A-Boo. 2 smooth coats. It covered pretty well. The shimmer in this bottle is gorgeous, however, it's not as noticeable on the nail, especially when it is super bright out, the shimmer just looks white. But hopefully you can see the dimensions of the shimmer of the blurred bottle shot!

Gorgeous or what?!

Twinsie Tuesday: Cloud Mani

Happy still early of the week Tuesday! I hope you enjoy this week's challenge as it is a cloud mani.

The orange is a bit bright, however, hopefully you can tell that I wanted to do more fall colors. I love fall, except I feel like this combo was quite odd. But I digress. With this mani, first I used Wet n Wild Club Havana with 2 coats, then Sally Hansen CSM  Cherry Cherry Bang Bang with 2 coats and lastly one of my all time favorites, Sinful Colors Open Seas with 2 lovely coats. These all applied well and very smooth.

What do you think?

Today is day 4 and I hope you all are enjoying these manis and fun little facts as much as I am!

This is 2 smooth coats of Blush from Snailz from my lovely friend Ash over at Art Evolve. This is a soft pale pink with tiny gold shimmers and tiny holo shimmers which I didn't do a great job photographing, none the less, it's a gorgeous polish!

Twinsie Tuesday: Most Hated Trend

I don't own any polishes that I absolutely hate, and I have already featured the crackle trend here once before, so instead of not posting at all, I thought I would share anyways, just not on my nails. I hope you enjoy this!

For the moment of truth, I absolutely dislike, hate the duck feet nail trend (one of the many).

I honestly don't care how cute the nails are, or how cute the designs may be, but there is something about this trend that makes me want to vomit. But hey, to each their own! I have no problem with it on anyone else's nails, but you'll never see me with anything like this on my nails.

What are some of your hated trends?

Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Week: Day 1

To raise awareness for Breast Cancer, myself and a few other bloggers are participating in Pink Week!

Because Breast Cancer can happen to anyone at any age, we present to you, day one of Pink Week. With that said, we also would like to share a little bit of information along with our manis.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide.

For this mani, I used one of my favorite pinks, Wet n Wild Candy-licious and for the ribbon, I used Wet n Wild Through the Grapevine.

Twinsie Tuesday: Astrological Sign

My apologies for the tardiness and absence. Hopefully you enjoy this!

Color Club Age of Aquarius. Calling out you February babies! This is actually turning up really blue, but it's actually more green and minty. I'm not sure why it's so hard to capture the true color but it is really a gorgeous color - perfect for Spring but I'm wearing right now anyways. So who cares!

AoA applied sort of patchy but covered perfectly in 3 coats. And I have to say, this baby was worth it!

What's your sign?

Pahlish Glittoris

*Press Sample*

Yet another lovely Pahlish Polish! Today we have Glittoris, and this one is absolutely amazing! I can never have enough red polishes and this one is definitely one of my go-to's.

This is a raspberry jelly base with a mixture of pink, fushcia and red glitters which consist of square and hex glitters. Glittoris also has purple flakes and that completely tops it off for me! Not to mention the name, Glittoris! A beautiful polish with an awesome name! It's like the queen of all nail polishes!

Here, I have 2 coats which applied smoothly and covered with great opacity. There was absolutely no fishing of any sort. Although I am in love with the jelly look, I am going to try it with an undie! Any suggestions?

Pahlish Like Calenders Dying

*Press Sample*

Check this baby out!

I've been really loving me some Pahlish Polishes! This is Pahlish Like Calenders Dying. It is a milky, jelly green with tons of glitter and shimmer, including sqaures and hexes. It was hard to photograph the true green-ness of this color so it appears like it has pink undertones, but it doesn't. This is 3 coats and applied very evenly. However, I think I would I am going to use a green base under this. The application was smooth and I really enjoyed this one!

If you haven't already and would like to try some Pahlish Polishes, you can purchase them here on Llarowe and/or Shannon's Etsy shop

Update

Hello readers!

I just wanted to type up a quick update post. Lately, if you have noticed, I have been pretty inconsistent about my blog posting and doing my nails, and I can say that life got in the way, but I think for all bloggers, we fall into that "overwhelmed" stage and sort of slip back. I mean, not all, but some. So here I am just giving you an update about what's going on.

I think sometimes, blogging can feel like a "job" and not a hobby, and I think I started feeling that way. But in my head, I didn't want to admit it. I mean, yes, school got busy, summer was here, family time, yadda, yadda. And so, I apologize for that.

Also, I apologize to those who have sent me polishes and products to review. It has been quite some time npw, but I'm currently working on some reviews right  now and am getting back into the swing of things. So, with that, I truly apologize for the delayed reviews and absence.

With that said, look forward to a new layout and something big I am waiting to announce!

Have a wonderful all.

Twinsie Tuesday: Magazine Inspired

I had no idea how I wanted to polish this week's theme but I hope I did some sort of justice to the challenge! I wasn't sure if we were suppose to choose a mani that was featured in a magazine or an actual mani that looks like a magazine, but here is mine:

Can you tell which magazine this is from?

Did you guess it correct?

TIME Magazine!

Man! This mani was hard! I have never done the "frame" mani and I probably won't do it again because it's just too much free hand work and the lines aren't crisp enough for me to be content with it. I could've used the other method where I paint over the red, but oh well, I think it turned out not too shabby!

What do you think?

Twinsie Tuesday: Summer to Fall Transitional

This one was sort of hard. In my neck of the woods, we really didn't have summer weather until the end of June going into July. It was just last week that was pretty warm but today was 63 degrees. It's quite odd. But lately, I have been wearing darker colors just because of the weather. However, this one that I am going to show you is a newer polish from a recent collection, I think it's gorgeous.

This is Maybelline Antique Teal. I absolutely love this color! I wish it would've came out sooner this year but it is definitely more of a Fall color. Despite that, I totally would've worn this in the summer. It's not too dark but not too bright. It's not entirely a creme polish and it comes off matte. There are so many ways that this polish can go. I've never really been into the whole matte trend but the option to leave it matte is cool. The one thing that I do wish was different is the amount of flakes that comes off. I can't complain too much because this is one coat. One coat and it covered completely, so over all, this is definitely a win for me and I will most certainly be wearing this one more through out Fall.

What are some of your transition polishes?
