Zoya's New Invention: Matte Glitter Polish Promo Pictures

This is pretty cool and out of Zoya's comfort zone right? This collection is suppose be about texture, matte and glitter. Something different coming from Zoya.

They look sort of gritty to me. Any one else getting that feeling? I'm more of a smooth finish kind of person. So what do you think? Do they remind you of the OPI Mariah Carey collection? I guess they're trying to make this the new trend.

Is this your style? Ideas, thoughts?

Twinsie Tuesday: Thanksgiving Inspired

Now this week's challenge looks much more appealing than the last Twinsie challenge.

A Thanksgiving Inspired mani.

I didn't really feel like doing nail so I decided to do Thanksgiving/Fall colors. The base is Zoya Cola which is like a rusty red'ish orange but it's coming off really red in the photo. Then I added a duochrome shifting Darling Diva Polish glitter. I'm not if she has this in her shop, but it's gorgeous!

I love Thanksgiving, but Thanksgiving manis just aren't my thing and I had no idea what I wanted to do. But I hope you enjoyed this simple mani. What are some of you favorite manis? Do you have any Thanksgiving mani ideas?

And my nails have almost fully recovered. I've been having to file and shape, file and shape, file and shape so they're almost there!

Do you have Thanksgiving mani ideas?

Giraffe

Here's something fun and cute. Hopefully you like as much as I do!

If only giraffes were this baby cute in real life!

Now this was pretty easy. This mani was inspired a while ago when I was working on a Twinsie Tuesday animal inspired mani and this came to mind but I decided to use the other one.

For the pink base on the middle and ring finger, I used Zoya Areej. For all the colors of the giraffe, I used acrylic water based paints. I only have the primary colors, so I mixed them to create the color I need to create this cute giraffe.

Oh and sorry for the weird angle.

Well, I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend!

What's one of your fav animal inspired manis?

Black and White Stripes are Breezi

I hope you enjoyed this one as much I as did. It's simple and cute - and most of the time that's what I like!

Before the pictures, I want to apologize how yellow the pictures look. As you can tell, I recently just started using a light box and I am still trying to figure this thing out. Oh how I wish natural sunlight was more dependable.

If any of you light box users have any tips and tricks, please be sure to let me know!

Now, for yellow pictures.

For the blue, I used Zoya Breezi from my post the other day. I love this color and can't get enough of it. After a about a day or so, I added the black and white stripes just to add a fun little twist. For the white base on the pointer and thumb fingers, I used Sally Hansen Xtreme White Out and just a plain black acrylic paint for the stripes. Boy does it take steady hands to make those lines! I must say that was a real challenge but I am proud to say they look pretty decent!

Again, please pardon my weird colored looking skin. I personally prefer natural sunlight but with winter coming around, I'll have to play around with time considering that we barely get enough sun time out. So hopefully soon the lighting will be perfected! In the mean time, please bare with me.

So please let me know if you have any tips! I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Breezi + Winner Announcement

I'm pretty behind this week and I can't believe that it's also mid August already. BOO! School will be here soon. Did this summer pass quickly or was it just me?

So, this is what I have for you today!

Zoya Breezi is described as a soft, dusty, dirty medium cerulean blue with an opaque cream finish. Such a vibrant and eye appealing polish. This applied perfectly and was super glossy! I love creme-y and glossy polishes! Breezi was released some summers ago and I still love it here in 2012.

Apparently Breezi is also a dupe for OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, which is great because I have been wanting that one for awhile. Yay for dupes!

Breezi is also another polish that purchased for a penny on Copious. You can see my post here about how I did that. It almost doesn't get any better than that!

Now onto what you all have been waiting for!

After going through the list of entries, I have had to delete some. There were many entries that blogged about the giveaway but did not enter in the extra information as wells the links to their tweets. I am sorry but this is only fair to everyone and I hope you understand.

With that, I am glad to announce the winner of my 200+ Followers Fall For Jessica Giveaway is April Gevedon! Congrats! You have been emailed. I hope to hear a response within the next 24 hours.

Twinsie Tuesday: Animal Inspired

This week's theme was so much fun! I felt like there were so many thing that I wanted to do. So many different animals! Horses, cats, dogs, elephants oh the list was endless! Ultimately, for this week's Twinsie Tuesday theme, I went with: sheeps!

I also want to apologize that I haven't been commenting back or to your blogs. I have been super busy lately. That's no excuse, but just give me a little time to play catchup!

For the base, I used Zoya Kristen. Two lovely coats and it covered perfectly. For everything else, I used acrylic paint.

I wanted to do elephants, but did sheeps because I was short on time. However, you will be seeing animals posts soon here!

So far, I think this one is probably one of favorite themes so far! Besides the franken and jelly sandwich.

And please pardon my absence as this is a schedule post and I will not be back in town until Tuesday night. Therefore, hopefully by Wednesday morning, I will have the winner for my 200+ followers giveaway announced. So stay tuned lovelies! Have a great day!

What's would you have done for this week's animal theme?

Dove Jazzed Up

Are you ready for today's post? In my previous post, I said that I would be jazzing up Dove. So take a look!

What do you think?

I have yet to perfect the gradient look, but hey! I'm getting there. I'd say pretty ok for my first attempt.  Practice makes perfection! Oh and sorry about the messy cleanup. I didn't see it until after I already erased my nails and took these photos.

As you know, this is Zoya Dove with Sally Hansen Black out sponged and then a nice coat of Nubar Black Polka dot coated on top.

I'm so digging this! Hopefully I'll perfect this technique!

Have you done any gradient sponging?

Dove

Is anyone doing anything awesome coming up this weekend? I think I'm gonna have a pretty chilled weekend. I feel like summer is already done. I am now beginning to dread the thought of school next month. Anybody with  me?

Have you ever wondered what was the difference between grey and gray? I did. Until I found it. Silly me.

I'm not much of a person to polish my nails just a straight creme gray but this one was different. It's one of the most prettiest grays that I own. Who would think that a gray polish could ever look so stunning?

Sorry about the excess polish hanging around. I've decided to keep my nails short and sometimes I can't really get around to all the extra polish that shouldn't be where it is.

Zoya Dove is a light putty'ish gray. It's a soft and very flattering color. Dove was opaque in 2 coats. It applied super buttery and glossy. Simply lovely. This one is probably one of my favorite grays and it's hard to find one of those so I use this sparingly.

What do you think of gray cremes?

Oh and stay tuned for tomorrow's post as I jazz this baby up!

Gwin

I had a wonderful weekend and I really hope that all of you wonderful lovelies did as well!

I have got something awesome for you today, er, well, I think this is pretty awesome.

Oh yeah! Look at that baby!

Zoya Gwin was super smooth and applied very easily. This was 2 very awesome opaque coats. Gwin was released in 2010 and is a coral'ish-orange with a very strong golden yellow'ish iridescent shimmer. Sometimes you can even see a green shimmer peeking through.

This was very hard to photograph for some reason. I hate when that happens, as I'm sure we all do. But hopefully you get the point. The iridescent shimmer is much more visible in real life. This color is like the unnamed coral-ly orange of the year except with a shimmer in it.

The only thing that I can really complain about it that in the picture with the flash, you can see the brush strokes. And anything with brush strokes annoys me! However, I am willing to let that go for the beautiful outcome considering since the brush strokes aren't noticeable. I really love this. It's so juicy looking for summer!

Dots And A Bow

Good afternoon Thursday! Tomorrow is Friday, YAY!

I wanted something chic and fun and so here it is.

For this mani, I used Sally Hansen Black Out and White on with 2 coats then one lovely buttery smooth coat of Zoya Kristi. This was very simple and easy since I didn't want something too time consuming. I was really surprised that Kristi only took 1 coat?! How often can you find polishes like that? Amazing! Zoya, you never cease to amaze me!

I hope you enjoyed this super easy mani! Have a happy Thursday!

What do you think? Yay for 1 coaters?
Anna

Sorry for the blurry pic but he was moving around a lot. Anywho, he is officially 8 months old today. That number scares me. Soon enough, he'll be asking for candy. His top two teeth are beginning to poke out already. My, my they grow up fast. I can't believe it's been long months already.

Zoya Reece

I have this lovely color for you to see today!! I feel in love with this as soon as I saw it. Reece can be described as a "rose.muave metallic duochrome. A frosty hint of gold creates a unique 'oil-slick' rose-gold look."

Hopefully you can see the metallic finish in this. It is just so very lovely. The picture does this polish no justice. It's so much prettier in real life. I used 2 coats. One coat would've been ok but 2 coats is just perfect. I currently have this on my toes right now and I absolutely love it! It probably has to be one favorite polishes right now.

I don't know if it's just me, but I don't polish my toes in the winter because it's always covered up but now that Spring and Summer is around the corner, I have to polish them. Not only that, but I'm the kind of person where my pedicure HAVE TO match my manicure. Are any of you like that?

What do you think of the rose-gold metallic finish?

Zoya Keiko

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day! So I left the funeral early (also because of my baby and that I nurse) and went to my sisters because they were bbq'ing. When I arrived, all my sisters and brother's girlfriend were polishing their nails. And I was like "YAY! What else better could we do?!"

I am super sorry about the bad lighting. The sun went down already and I didn't have a decent place to take pictures. So I hope this isn't too bad.

This is Zoya Keiko. 2 coats. Keiko is a cool, magenta-purple with a lot berry/slight red tones and it's super creamy. I am really loving this color and think it's just perfect for Spring/Summer. It's just so creamy and delicious! Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend. Hopefully I will have time to do some nail art because I haven't done any nail art for a while. Til then!

Comparison Dupe: Zoya and Sinful Colors

If you don’t know, I recently just purchased my first few bottles of Sinful Colors because Walgreens is having an awesome deal where they're only $.99, so check it out!! And so, I have heard (haven’t googled it or looked up) the rumor that Sinful Colors Kissy is very close to Zoya’s Charla. At first without looking at Charla, I thought: “no way could they look closely a like.” Then I went to the store, purchased it and sure enough when I compared the two, they were pretty close. I could definitely say dupe for this one.

 Zoya Charla
 Sinful Colors Kissy
 The results
Index & ring: SC Kissy
Middle & pinky: Zoya Charla

I could not believe it. Dupe for sure, in my opinion. From a far, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference but if you look closely at it, Kissy is a tiny bit darker than Charla, hence the fact that Kissy looks like it has a slightly darker base. I felt like the application for this one was a little goopy. I don't think you can see, but at the tips of my nails, they're a little clumped. Since this is my first time trying out Sinful Colors, I am not sure if it it was the specific polish or whatever it may be. Zoya is definitely more shiny on the nails and applied beautifully and easily. No complaints. With that said, the fact that Kissy was only for $.99 and Charla for about $8, I would recommend Kissy besides the fact it applied a little goopy. However, I still very fond of Charla.

Which one would you rather purchase?
