DDP A Christmas Story and Seriously Serious

These babies here are just amazing!

From a far, you would think that they're simple microglitters, but they're not! They are so complex and unique.

This is 3 coats.

A Christmas Story. Just take a look at hidden rainbow! If you're not holding the bottle under direct sunlight, you wouldn't even know that the glitters are almost holographic. It is just amazing! In the bottle, it looks like a regular red and green microglitter polish but this one is jam packed with goodness!

This is 3 coats.

Seriously Serious is like the twin sister or, fraternal sister to A Christmas Story instead with purple glitters. I tried my best to capture the green holographic glitters but it just was not showing up. Otherwise, this one is just as gorgeous! These pictures do no justice at all. I feel like these pictures are a little bit of a failure. Hopefully when I revisit this, I will have a better camera and better lighting, then you'd be able to see the full potential of this beauty!

As always, I have never had a problem with any of the DDP's. They both applied smooth.

Twinsie Tuesday: Oldest Polish

Please pardon my delay.

Now has got to one of these worst polishes I have ever purchased.

This Rimmel polish is about 9 years old. Yes, I remember exactly what year I bought because I went with my sisters. This is my of oldest and very first polishes ever purchased. And while I thought this polish was absolutely gorgeous, I honestly don't remember even using is at all. And the weird thing is that it shows some usage. I'm surprised I even kept it all these years!

This is a straight up metallic, super brush-stroky, almost mirror like blue with a slight duochrome finish. I'm sure you can see the brush strokes. And you can maybe see some hints of the golden duochrome.

The application was a bit thick considering the age. It applied smoothly but was very brush stroky.

The bottles have changed a bit over the years. They now look like this:

Source

Not that big of a difference but noticeable I would say. They also have that wide brush as it seems.

Would I ever wear this again? Never.

What's one of your oldest polishes?

FUUUUUUUDGE!!!

I hope all you USA residents had a great Thanksgiving and an awesome Black Friday shopping!

Alright, I had to count how many U's there were and I hope I got it right!

FUUUUUUDGE!!! is apart of Carrie's holiday collection and it is just absolutely stunning.

I absolutely love and adore this one so much! All the colors in here are just so complex and perfectly mixed together. FUUUUUUUDGE!!! has a variety of many different glitters ranging from red, orange and blue that come in hexes and shreds of glitter. With it are neutral/tan'ish brown and gold glitters that come in squares and hexes. It's gorgeous.

Generally, I'm really not a fan of brown'ish leaning polishes but this one just amazing. I am completely in love with this! I don't even want to take it off!

This is 2 amazing coats. The application was smooth. There was no fishing with the glitters but it was a little thick. though manageable as you can see.

You can purchase Darling Diva Polishes at her Etsy shop here. Her polishes retail between $8 -$12. You can also "Like" her Facebook page to keep updated on her shop and future polishes here.

Amazing right?

Band Beauty

Happy Turkey Day!

Hopefully, today your bellies are happily filled!

Now this post is solely dedicated to the accent finger. Sation Band Beauty. I don't think I could ever do a full on straight up glitter-bomb (I can but prefer not to) on my nails. This glitter is just so gorgeous. It's really to die for.

Band Beauty's  formula was amazing,  2 effortless coats. This glitter polish is jam packed with goodness. It has all kinds of colored glitters and a few sizes ranging from small to medium hex glitters, oh so gorgeous. Pardon the blur on the last picture, my camera didn't know where to focus. BB is such a special polish. The glitter is unique is and it's so pretty!

Well what do you think?

Twinsie Tuesday: Thanksgiving Inspired

Now this week's challenge looks much more appealing than the last Twinsie challenge.

A Thanksgiving Inspired mani.

I didn't really feel like doing nail so I decided to do Thanksgiving/Fall colors. The base is Zoya Cola which is like a rusty red'ish orange but it's coming off really red in the photo. Then I added a duochrome shifting Darling Diva Polish glitter. I'm not if she has this in her shop, but it's gorgeous!

I love Thanksgiving, but Thanksgiving manis just aren't my thing and I had no idea what I wanted to do. But I hope you enjoyed this simple mani. What are some of you favorite manis? Do you have any Thanksgiving mani ideas?

And my nails have almost fully recovered. I've been having to file and shape, file and shape, file and shape so they're almost there!

Do you have Thanksgiving mani ideas?

Darling Diva Sugar Rush & Snow Bunny

This is a swatch that I did the night before my nails broke and I am so excited to share with you guys because these 2 polishes are truly a beauty!

Snow Bunny

Sugar Rush

Sugar Rush over black

Sugar Rush with middle and ring finger over white

I love the way the glitters look like they're melting but they're really not.
And that iridescent glitter is just amazing!

Look at the difference with Sugar Rush over the black and over the white! Who would've thought that was the same polish? When I first saw this, I was like what?! No way! That is just crazy! Now, you can call that an amazing creation!

And I absolutely love Snow Bunny! It's like the sister to Sugar Rush. I completely forget to put a different base under because I was so in love with the way that looked without and undie. Gorgeous right?

Both polishes were a bit thick but thinner worked like magic! None the less, both of these are beautiful! And the best part is you can purchase them here for only $8!

You can also purchase other Darling Diva Polishes at her Etsy shop here. Her polishes retail between $8 -$12. You can also "Like" her Facebook page to keep updated on her shop and future polishes here.

Aren't these just lovely?

Guest Post from All That Is Gorgeous

Since my wonked up nails are still recovering I present to you:

My Twinsie, and awesome polish friend Jennifer from All That Is Gorgeous. She is just way too sweet for sharing this lovely goodness on my blog! And seriously, her nails and manis really are gorgeous! They're perfect! Just take a look!
_________________________________________________________________________

 HELLO GoingtotheShowing readers!!!!

I am here to bring a fun little indie to show y'all while Anna's nail mends!  Bummer!  I cannot stand it when I break a nail, cut them too short, or cut them wonky!

This little bottle of fun is Lush Lacquer Paradise Cove!  Paradise Cove has a sheer brown base with hex and bar glitter in teal and copper with a dash of some gorgeous iridescent glitter!

For this mani, I wore one coat of Paradise Cove and Essie Mink Muffs undies!  I really love this polish layered over the creme chocolate brown!!

Paradise Cove was a cinch to apply!  The glitter distributed evenly over the nail and no fishing was required!

Thank you, Anna for having me visit your blog while your nail recovers!

_________________________________________________________________________

I really need to get my hands on some Lush Lacquers. Seriously, Paradise Cove such a beauty? Great distribution and no fishing for glitter. We definitely need all indies to be like that. I am truly in love with this combo Jenn! Thanks so much for sharing this beauty here! Thank you!

Can I get a yes for more Lush Lacquers?! YES, please!

On the flip side, my nails are starting to look a little better. My nails grow uberly slow and are very thin and frail. It really sucks, but it's what I've got to work with. Some people said that there is some kind of vitamin out there that helps with nail growth, anyone know what I'm talking about? Anyone take anything for nail strength or growth?

Also, I apologize for my lack of interaction here lately. There's only 1 month of this semester left, and you know what that means. Exams, presentations, papers and projects, you know that's always fun! Soon as that's done, I'll be all over the place! Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Anywho, I am so grateful for Jenn sharing this on my blog and with you! Killer combo right? Lovely, right?

Guest Post from Did My Nails

This is so awesome - I'm just gonna get right to it!

Supposedly this lady here "claims" that she isn't too great with nail art. Say what. Tell me what you think!
 ________________________________________________________________________

Hello! My name is Elizabeth, from Did My Nails, and I'm very happy to be able to pitch in while Anna's wayward nail is in recovery. I asked if there was anything in particular she wanted me to do for this post, but her only specification was, "Surprise me!" So with free rein and in the mood to try something new, I chose Anna's adorable footprint logo as the basis for some black-and-white nail art.

My base colours were Nfu Oh 132 (black), OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (near-white), and Zoya Dove (lt grey). There's also China Glaze Recycle (med grey) on the thumb and middle fingers. Most of the details were done with dotting tools, except for the index, which is just some narrow swipes with a striper (Orly Crisp White). And the glitter on my pinky is Ninja Polish Sticks 'n Stones, which Anna thoroughly rocked my world by sending me in a recent swap. I squeaked like a little girl when I unwrapped it. There may also have been a dance of glee. So I definitely wanted to incorporate it, along with the little footprints.

I had so much fun doing these nails! I do keep thinking I managed to dot too many toes, but they seem to add up to ten. ^_^
 ________________________________________________________________________

Say what? Isn't that little foot print on her nail the cutest thing ever? I really almost died. I truly love this so much! This just blew me out of the water!

Elizabeth, thank you so much for guest posting for me! I love your nail art, such a perfectionist! So crisp and clean looking with not a single smudge or smear!

On the other hand, my nails are growing so very slow. Sad panda.

Isn't Elizabeth's nail art fabulous?

Twinsie Tuesday: 3D Mani

I have to say this was the worst thing I have ever done.

And as you can clearly see this weeks challenge was a 3D mani.

No need for a watermark.

Worst. Mani. Ever.

That's all,
Anna

I'm sure my Twinsies' did bettter! So check it out!

Must Have: Facial Moisturizer

Since my nails are short and not too pretty, I thought I would explore the makeup blogging stuff and share with you some of my very favorite products!

Now that the weather is here becoming a lot cooler, my skin is becoming very dry. And I hate it. Especially my face. But this product has never ceased to fail me!

Lush Vanishing Cream.

When I first started using this, I wasn't too sure about the texture of it since it was thicker but now I am in love and would never use anything else! The vanishing cream is so perfect for me! It feels featherless on my face and dries quickly. It moisturizes and doesn't burn my skin. It also claims to "balance oil production for even, clear skin" - which I can vouch for.

Since using this product, I noticed that I break out less. And in the morning, it leaves my face feeling so smooth! I absolutely love this!

Now I can't say that this will work for you since our skin is different but you can always ask for samples!
The Lush Vanishing Cream retails for $42.95 and you can purchase online here or in store. While it's a bit on the expensive side, it's really worth it.

What kind of moisturizer do you use?

Guest Post from Polish Obsession

As some of you know and some don't, I broke my nail on Friday as you can see here. And Marisa from Polish Obsession, one of my Twinsie was sweet enough to compose a guest post for me since I literally have nothing but nubbin's on my nails.

So take a look, you'll be drooling all over your keyboard just like me!

________________________________________________________________________

Hi fellow nail polish lovers!!!

I'm Marisa from Polish Obsession. I'm so excited to do a guest post for Anna, I love her blog! Typically, I do swatches and a bit of nail art. When thinking of what to do for this post, I decided to do a subtle layering.

I started off with Sally Hansen Jade Jump, a lovely green creme from their Insta Dri Line. It's one of my favorite greens. I then added a coat of Girly Bits Hocus Pocus, a sheer holographic top coat. Finally, I added Kleancolor Sparkle Emerald, a clear base with green holographic microglitter. Here's the result.

Artificial Light

I used Orly Nail Defense as a base and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. I really liked this subtle sparkly look. These polishes worked really well together.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! Thanks for having me Anna!
 ________________________________________________________________________

Seriously, isn't this combo to die for? First off, I love, really love the Sally Hansen Jade Jump, and to top it off with the Girly Bits and the Kleancolor top coats, I am just blown away.

I love the simplicity and beauty of this. It speaks volumes of gorgeousness. I am beginning to feel like I need all 3 polishes in my life (thanks Marisa, as if I didn't need more on wishlist!)

So thanks Marisa so much for guesting posting here! I am so thankful!

Well, I hope you readers enjoyed! And don't forget to check out her amazing blog!

Broken Nail

I don't even know when this happened but this morning, I was pulling my bangs back with my hair while driving in the car and I felt a little tug. Upon putting my hands back on the steering wheel, I saw little pieces of hairs on my finger nail and come to find it, it was stuck in between the crack/cut of my nail. Sad day.

A picture like this really doesn't need a watermark, oh well.

Yes. What a very sad day. There was no way that I could save this nail. A missing tiny chunk of the nail, no hope there unfortunately. So until they grow back to the length I enjoy them at, I will be relying on back up swatches and guest posts. I will also be exploring on other topics that I could possibly post here on my blog.

In the mean time, I hope you will bare with me and enjoy these upcoming posts!

Thanks a ton!

Falling Star

I have been lemming this for some time now and was lucky enough to find it in a blog sale! Barielle Falling Star.

Falling Star is a dusty medium blue with tons of copper glitter. I was immediately drawn to this when I first saw it on a few blogs and I am so happy to say that I own it!

This formula was sort of weird. It was thick and goopy but runny. It pooled in my cuticles many times but I admit, it's worth it for this lovely!

For some reason, it reminds of a sister to butter London Two Fingered Salute (which by the way is on it's way to being added to my stash, currently as I type)! Except that this is different in it's own way.

So what do you think of this? Do you need to own too?

November 8 for No H8: Eradicate Hate in the Nail Polish Blogger Community

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.

Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

Something sweet and dainty. The base color is ELF Lilac and the flowers are a purple acrylic paint as well as the green leaves.

I hope that you will support anti-bullying, not only in the polish blogging community but any kind of bullying. It's crazy what polish can do the nail community, literally. However, we can all bring an end to it.
Please note that Llarowe will be donating $2.00 of every purple polish sold on her site from 12am Thursday, November 8 through 12am Friday, November 9 to Pacer.org, an organization devoted to anti-bullying education.
If you or someone you know suffers from bullying, there is help available. Please visit the following sites for support and encouragement:

Midsummer's Midnight

Hello lovelies! I hope you all voted yesterday!

Please bare with me while I try to figure out hand positions and lightings and what not. So in the next few days, I'll be switching it up for a bit. How do you take your mani photos?

Anywho, this is what I have for you today. A HARE polish, Midsummer's Midnight.

I absolutely love this polish. The formula was like magic! I wish I would've used an undie to save more polish since I used 3 coats for this, but I've never even finished a whole bottle of polish in my life (that excludes and sort of frankening), so whatevs! I love the black jelly base with all the glitters. The only problem is, is the blue glitters were stuck to walls of the polish bottle and barely any of the square blue glitters came off. Boo. None the less, I love this polish and can't wait to order more and showcase them here.

By the way, I'm playing the catch-up game. I'll be commenting and replying back as soon as I can!

What are some of your favorite indies?

Twinsie Tuesday: Canadian's Choice

This has got to be one of the worst nail arts that I have ever done. And as you can see, it's a Canadian Twinsie Tuesday! Yes, we love you Canadians!

We were split up in 2 groups, which were Team Ash and Team Anne, then we were given a secret challenge. Both groups we assigned a Canadian topic, and go Team Anne! Yeah, we got the woodland challenge.

Now, I have never been to Canada so I have no idea how it looks like, so I Googled up "Canada woodlands" and created what I could, I really tried my very best.

Not the best nail art that I have produced but this one was a real challenge. It was really suppose to look more like this:

Someone tell me that this looks like Canada please!?

Woot for Team Anne. I hope I have represented you Canadians well. And if I didn't I apologize!

I mainly used acrylic paints. It was hard having to mix the colors, hence the reason why the colors look so "blotchy" and meshed together. However, I hope you enjoy this because I had a lot of fun doing this!

Close to Canada at all?
Anna
