MM (Makeup Monday): Ipsy VS BirchBox

Hello to another Makeup Monday post! Sorry for my absence. I feel horrible! None the less, I present to you my monthly subscription. Ipsy and BirchBox.

As usual, it comes in a cute little zip baggy.

City Color Blush in Fresh Melon
The color is not accurate however, it's a gorgeous blush! It's a pinky melon color,
and a great size. It's about the size of your palm! Totally worth it.

 J. Cat Beauty Eyelash
Includes eyelash adhesive. You can never go wrong with lashes!

Mally Beauty Evercolor Waterproof Eyeliner in Starlight
My first Mally Beauty product, however, in my Ipsy bags, I always get a silver liner
and I can't seem to understand why. Every eyeliner I've gotten so far is silver, but hey,
it's a full size liner, I can't complain!

Pop Beauty Lipgloss in Peony Petal
Gorgeous color and perfect for Spring! It's a pinky color and applies like butter!
It's .14 oz but it will definitely last me a long time!

Lastly, a Zoya polish.
Source
Unfortunately, my battery conveniently died on me. However, this is a full size
Zoya polish from the Naturel Collection. An Orchid Maroon color, and just
my cup of tea! This alone is $9. What do you think?

So onto Birch Box.

I didn't even want to take photos but here is small decription. For the Smashbox Mascara, it was a deluxe mini. The OPI top coat was a mini as well. The Smashbox Palette was a piece of sample, on a paper. The Agave oil was a mini deluxe as well and barely enough to see if it made a difference with my hair. The Cleanser was a mini as well.

I have been really disappointed with Birch Box these past few months and finally decided to cancel. Hence the reason I didn't even waste my time taking pictures to show you.

So finally, Ipsy takes the cake. Like always. There have been some months that weren't so great but I am very happy over all. Both of these subscriptions are $10, but seriously, I'm really getting my money's worth with Ipsy, so gladly I cancalled Birch Box and will stay subscribed to Ipsy.

Are you ladies subscribed to these services at all? What do you think?

March Birchbox 2013

I am disappointed with this months box. I know each box is only $10, but that $10 is extremely hard earned money. I didn't take pictures of the box or the card because I was let down and I didn't care at the time so hopefully you don't mind the screenshots.

I haven't posted a Birch Box blog in a while because they haven't been worth mentioning but this month's box had 2 missing items, yes 2.

Now, I'll just get on with the box.

So this is what I am suppose to be getting in this months box:

The actual products that I received in my box:

I'm missing the Incoco Nail strips, the one thing that I was super excited about! As well as the Twistband Head Band. That sucks. Although, I receive the emery nail board, Evologie Blemish Serum and the Whish Blueberry Shaving Cream. I am pretty upset about this month's box. I did contact the Birch Box customer service and the representative that I emailed gave me 100 points towards my Rewards Points. Am I happy with that? It's ok, I guess. I don't think that $10 was worth these 3 products for this month's box but I really enjoy Birch Box.

Hopefully next month will turn out to be better. I'm really hoping.

Are any of you subscribed to Birch Box? What did you get?

July Glamour Birchbox

Oh my goodness. I was so very excited when I opened up this month's box!

For those of you who don't know what a Birchbox is, it is monthly beauty box subscription for $10 a month and "every month Birchbox members will receive a curated box of luxe beauty samples. Each box will span beauty categories and deliver exciting products that fit into both your day-to-day routine, and into those days when you want to turn up the drama a notch.

I didn't mention last month's box because it was meh. Not all that awesome. But this July one, I'm pretty stoked!

  Beauty Blender
Makeup Sponge

 Harvey Prince Hello
Meyer lemon, white grapefruit, mandarin and pink plumeria infused
 Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint
Luminizing tint that adds a dewy finish
 Stila Lip Glaze
Lip gloss with a sheer sparkly wash

  Tea Forte
Cocoa tea infused reboot energy mints

 Exclusive Earbuds
Headphones
Before even opening the box, I was so excited that it was Glamour inspired. I knew it was going to be a good box and I can honestly say that this is my favorite box by far. All of the items I know I am actually going to use.

I can't wait to use the Beauty Blender! I have heard so many raves about this pink squishy thing. Hopefully it will own up to it. I was so surprised when it came in my box. Seriously? It's an $19.95 makeup blender and I could never justify paying that much for it. Thanks Birchbox!

The Harvey Prince perfume smells so lovely! Even my Hubby liked the way it smells. He's pretty pick-y when it comes down to scents I wear and I have a very sensitive nose. But this is a very light, sweet and refreshing smell.

I have yet to try the Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint but so far it seems like nice product. I probably won't buy the full product because the sample product is just too tiny and by the time it's done I won't really know if it works or not but I am hoping for the best.

I'm not too excited about the lip glaze, it's a bit thick and sticky and I'm not a fan of that. Although the tiny sheer wash of color and sparkle on my lips is beautiful.

The tea cocoa infused mints are a pretty nice touch to my Birchbox. I actually kind of like it. I'm not sure if it gives me any energy but it's a nice mint!

I am definitely going to use the earbuds. Yeah! Especially when I hit the gym! And look at that pink and green. What a cute combo!

So what'd you get in your Birchbox?

May Gossip Girl Birchbox

I finally received my first Birchbox. I was super excited when I was on the waiting list. And now here it is!

For those of you who don't know what a Birchbox is, it is monthly beauty box subscription for $10 a month and "every month Birchbox members will receive a curated box of luxe beauty samples. Each box will span beauty categories and deliver exciting products that fit into both your day-to-day routine, and into those days when you want to turn up the drama a notch."

Now, what I received in my box:

Dr. Jart + Waterfuse BB Cream
This is a 4-in-1 moisturizer, serum, sunscreen and skin-perfecting tint.

Stila Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Curacao
Pearly shimmer almost glitter like liquid eyeliner in a pen-like wand package.

 Color Club in Disco Nap
This a a gold metallic finish
Keratase Cristalliste
A sample serum that claims to smooth out dry stands and add gorgeous shine.
It also came with a sample perfume which I forgot to picture.

Overall, I'm not too impressed considering that the May Birchbox was Gossip Girl inspired. I think some of the products are nice but definitely not for me. I don't really like to use liquid eyeliner, not to mention glitter with it! Also, it's really hard for me to use perfume because I'm really sensitive to scents. The Color Club mini was cute, although I wish I had gotten a more unique color. Other than that, the packaging was cute and functional.

Have you ordered your first Birchbox? What do you think of them?
