Merry Christmas!

It’s a little past Christmas, but oh well. (= I hope that all of you had a great time and awesome gifts. I had an extraordinary time with my family. Opened a few gifts and later spent family time and played games. Tons of fun! I wish we did this more often like we to use to do. Now, we only get together because of special occasions which are a little unfortunate but it happens. Needless to say I am extremely blessed not only with my family but a family of my very own.

It was his first Christmas ever! Too bad he doesn’t know how to open his gifts but I am sure he loves it, at least he seems to. But this little guy here is growing up so fast! It seemed like just the other day he was wearing newborn size diaper and now he’s in 3’s. I like to think that I’m the only woman in his life, but that would be a lie. So for now, I am embracing every previous moment with him.
Well, I hope you had a blessed day!

What did you do for Christmas?

Did I forget to mention we had some very yummy pho?

Festive Christmas

I finally gathered the festive Holiday spirit in me to polish a simple and plain merry look on my nails. Unfortunately I went to sleep with them a tinch wet and well, you know the results. They were a little smushed up. I was just way too tired to sit there and wait for them to dry, so I just went to sleep. And when I woke up, I wanted to repaint them all over again. Then I thought; well Christmas is almost over and I’m definitely not the best artist with my left hand. So I just left it. Plus, I didn’t like the polish enough to redo it all perfectly. So here’s what it looks like:

So, before I painted my nails with this, I had on Orly’s Fowl Play. And boy, that polish is just such a beauty! I didn’t post a blog about because I felt like the pictures just did not justify the beauty of this polish. You can definitely google up some images, but this one is such a beautiful flake polish. It’s like a sheer jelly purple base with tons of various sized flakes and colors. It comes with red/green’ish duochrome flakes along with stunning tiny blue and silver glitters. This is from the Orly Fall 2011 Birds of a Feather collection and is definitely one of my favorites however it a little too dark for me, otherwise, you can definitely use a light base and then just 1 coat of the Fowl Play, but who knows how that’ll turn out. Anywho, toodles for now!

Did you paint anything festive on your nails?
XOXO

Working weekend

It’s been 4 days since I have written in my blog. It seems like forever. However, I doubt that anyone would read my blog. (= Partly my fault since I wanted to get it rolling before letting it all hang out. So I haven’t been doing much but relaxing, I should really be cleaning my messy place. This bucket of clothes that I am planning to donate needs to get out of here so I can have more room!

Finals are finally over! I feel a little relieved except I am taking a class over break to get it out of the way. Since I will be graduating later than expected due to my advisor who THOUGHT she placed me in the correct pre-requisite for chemistry, but apparently not. OH! So I spoke to financial aid about the owed balance for Spring and they informed me that financial aid isn’t dispersed until shortly after Spring semester actually starts because many students are constantly adding and dropping classes. Can you imagine how relieved I felt? I’m already thousands and debt and now taking more loans. Yuck! Praise God! I hope all of my spring tuition will be covered by financial aid. (=

Drools*

Did I mention that my sister and I went to get some Boba tea? I have been craving that for what seems like forever. Although yesterday was a little chilly, it was satisfying! Later, we went to a couple of stores where I purchased a few baby items for her since those were the few last things that she didn’t have after her baby shower. I’m so excited to meet her little man. I guess my son will have a partner in crime! =D
Hope your having a wonderful weekend!
Toodles,

ELF Comparison

So, I opened my tiny package from ELF today and as soon as I opened the up the conditioning lip balms in Blissful Berry and Nice and Natural, I immediately thought about the L'Oreal Infallible in Lindas Beige and Revlon Soft Rose. Id say they seem to be a little bit of dupes.

ELF Conditioning Lip Balm in Nice and Natural versus L'Oreal Infallible Lindas Beige
ELF Conditioning Lip Balm Blissful Berry vs Revlon Soft Nude

Top: Elf BB
2nd top: Revlon SF
3rd bottom: Elf N&N
Bottom: L'Oreal LB

They seem a bit similar eh? On to the swatches...
Indoor without flash ^

Indoor with flash^

Pros: ELF Lip Balms
-$3 US dollars
-There are always promotion coupons
-Non sticky formula
-Very pigmented for a lip balm
Cons: ELF Lip Balms
-White flash back in the pictures due to SPF 15
-Not many shade selections
-Pots are a bit tiny, may be hard to use your fingers
The Revlon Soft Nude (runs about $7-$8) is in deed a beautiful lipstick but to me seems to dry up my lips a tiny bit. The L'Oreal Infallible (runs $10-$12) stays on forever and claims to last up to 16 hours! You will need an oil based makeup remover to get this bad boy off. All L'Oreal Infallible Lipstains come a conditioning topcoat that is absolutely shiny and beautiful.

So if your looking for some what of a dupe, you should definitely check out the ELF lip balms. They dont break the bank! I actually love the lip balms more the Revlon lipstick. I do however LOVE the L'Oreal Infallible lip stain due to the long staying power. So it really depends on what you prefer.

What do you think?

I AM FINALLY DONE WITH FALL SEMESTER!
This semester and undoubtedly the next semester has been and will the hardest considering my little 4 month old. I won’t entirely be able to enjoy winter break since I am taking a class to cut my time so I can graduate sooner, however I will be 1 year and 1 semester behind (there’s a long story behind that). I am little disappointed in myself due to my grades but I am still so proud of myself for passing with a decent grade. I wonder how all these other mothers are making it with their little new borns while attending school; props to them because I struggled this semester. Now I have to kick up this Spring semester. Although I am disappointed, I will leave it in God’s hand. (=

Today was my wonderful day off work! I spent the afternoon with my lovely sister and browsed around a few stores and saw this little wall plague that said: “Faith makes things possible, not easy.” And I have to say that, this has been the 3rd time this week that I came across that saying. Lately, I have been stressing out about everything. But I have been really challenging myself, and I believe that He is too; challenging my faith in Him. It has been tough, but I know that He never fails, and NEVER slacks. So, continuing on I go.

Completely trusting in Him,

ELF Black Friday Haul

So today, I went to Fedex and I finally picked up my shipment after 3 attempts. I just could no longer wait. I was so excited to see these. I have a few other ELF products but I havent tried some of these (shown above). Clearly, I bought this when it was Black Friday so they had a 50% off their entire website with a coupon. I also had an e-gift coupon for about $31 dollars since my last order did not make it to me. So Everything totaled up to be $60 something with the 50% off, then I used my e-gift and only ended up paying about $6 something dollars. SCORE! So I got everything here for under $6 dollars - OK, maybe even $7. However, it was such a good deal I could not resist! I will hopefully be doing an updated post about these products if you guys are interested?!

Lastly, you can order ELF products here: http://www.eyeslipsface.com.

Do you own anything from and ELF?
Sincerely,
AHY

Tiny Drugstore Haul

Today while I was snooping around CVS, I found these super awesome deals! Most were 75% off. So pretty much, these items each were no more than $5!
From the left to right: Physicians Formula Gel Strips and Eye Candy, Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer, L'Oreal Infallible in Lindas Beige, Revlon in Soft Rose, Travalo, Revlon Enamel in Ignite and Perplex, lastly Sally Hansen nail polish quad.

I am estatic! These are great deals! You should definitely check out your local CVS to see if they are having any price cuts on the beauty items.

So today was my last day of classes/final for my fall semester. The final was worse than the midterm. All the questions that were on the practice final wasnt even on the final. What a waste. I hope I at least passed with a B. Thatd be at least satisfying.
Tomorrow is my sisters baby shower. Im making her a diaper cake and cake pops. Hopefuly that turns out well. (= I should probably get started on that since I want to do nails tonight as well.

Have a great weekend!

Final, finals

I'm up late finishing up a 5 page essay. Its 12:46am right now. I should really be finishing up my essay but I need just a small little break.

I am currently listening to IHOP Live => Good stuff.

I am pretty excited to start this blog and wondering where it will take me.  Who knows, who would even read this blog. But I guess we will see. Anywho, back to typing for school work. See you soon.

Nights,
