DEAL Alert: Sally Hansen Polishes

Hello! It's Thursday - it's finally my weekend! No work, but definitely homework.

I had a meeting with my professor after class but it wasn't until later and I had sometime in between, so I decided to make a stop at Dollar Tree and I found some goodies!

A picture hanging on the rack

Left to right, top to bottom: Twinkle Twinkle Lime Light, Midnight Sky, Teal-y Cool
My total was $2.15 after taxes.

So pretty much each polish was only $.50 cents. Good deal?!

Have you spotted this at your local Dollar Tree?

Twinsie Tuesday: Hyped Up Polish

It's Tuesday! You know what that means! Twinsie Tuesday! This weeks edition: a hyped up polish.

Sorry for the late post, something was wrong with the router. Called the husband - and here I am!

It took me a while to choose what I wanted since I didn't have that many hyped up polishes. Originally, I was going to do the famous dupe for Bad Romance, but then I thought about the removal process, and I was like, nahhhhh. So here is what I decided on:

Sorry for the many pictures. I just could not capture the copper/brown super fine shimmer. It didn't really transfer well on the nails - which was disappointing. I used 2 coats and it looks perfect! It's super opaque. I could have gotten away with coat but I really wanted the copper shimmer to stand out in which it really didn't. But it's ok I guess.

I just purchased this MPJ recently and really wish I would've picked it up when it was first released back in 2007. Because the newer formulas are not the same as the first original one. As you can see:

Pictured from The Polish Addict
Look at the big difference. That is so disappointing. I mean, it's still very pretty but I would have preferred the original formula. The new MPJ looks almost like the original one but without the holo. How sad is that? It's what made MPJ so awesome, wasn't it? Anywho, what do you think of this?

Do you own the original MPJ?

Can't wait to check out what the other Twinsie Tuesday ladies choose!

Racist Hunger Games

Has anyone read this? I haven't seen the movie or read the book but I was so shocked to have come across this article via a friend of mine on Facebook. Can you believe that it's 2012 and people can be like this? In my most humble opinion, this is very saddening.

I wonder what these people really think of the actors outside of the movie. "Nigger" "Black B^tch". It's disgusting.

What do you think?

Minions

Oh no. It's Monday tomorrow. For me, worst day of the week.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I worked this weekend and celebrated my little brother's 18th birthday, he was so happy! However, I can't want to see Despicable Me 2. I am super excited! I actually wasn't even interested in Despicable Me at all until my husband told me to watch it and now, I LOVE it! It's such a cute movie!

Sorry it's a tiny bit blurry but I hope you don't mind because the minions are so cute! For this mani I used Ulta Sun-sational for the base coat and that was 2 opaque coats for the denim overall, I used Ulta Mint Condition, Orly Prince Charming for the overall buttons and pupils, Brucci Sophies Sweet Pink for the little tongue and lastly black and white acrylic paint. The reason for that is, I didn't want any smearing and wanted to avoid it as much as possible, but that's inevitable. Anywho, like I said I can't wait to see it. Too bad it doesn't come until sometime in 2013. Oh, and the trailer is just so adorable! I love to watch it whenever it comes on.

Are you excited to watch Despicable Me 2?

Whimsical Cinderella

Good Thursday today! Tomorrow is finally Friday! Yay!

It's about 11:29 and I have class at 1. I am so tired! Today, my son woke up at 6:30 (which he never does) and he just wanted to hang out. I obviously have no choice but to accompany him. And now, that hour is catching up and I KNOW I will super tired in class. Anywho, on to the goodness.

First, I am sorry for the yucky photos. It was hard because we haven't seen any sun here for the past few days, So I worked with what I had - and that wasn't a lot.

Can you tell what beautiful polishes I used for this manicure? Well, for the base, I used 1 coat of Sinful Colors Cinderella, 2 coats of Revlon Whimsical then 2 coats of Out The Door in attempt to achieve a smooth top coat. So, what do you think? I personally really love they way it looks. Somehow it seems so magical. On the other hand, I feel like blue is such an odd color to hand on my nails. Maybe I'm just not used to it. However, I am really enjoying this mani!

What do you think of the combo - though you can barely see Cinderella?
Anna

By the way, have any of you used Whimsical? How was the removal process?

Mini Haulage

Made a short and sweet stop at Sally's Beauty:

Total: $11.21
Then I dropped by Ulta and purchased these goodies!

I got the LAST bottle of Whimsical! How lucky!

 Total: $9.41

So for 6 polishes, 1 EOS lip balm and a hand lotion my total came up to be $20.62. Oh, and sorry for the bad lighting in the photos.

Good deal you would say?

Twinsie Tuesday: Discontinued Polish

This weeks Twinsie Tuesday edition is of a discontinued polish.

How does someone really know if a polish has been discontinued or not? Me, eh. I wouldn't know. But anywho, I hope you enjoy this polish!

This OPI Jewel Of India. It is from the OPI 2000 Far East Collection. This is probably one of my favorite OPI polishes. It's so beautiful! I really love this color. It is a berry, rose color with with a purple shimmer. I hope you can see the shimmer, it was hard to catch since I took these photos with artificial light because the sun wouldn't come out and play. But this is 2 coats and it was super easy to apply.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this post. Seriously, is there a site where we can know it it's a discontinued polish or if it's on the HTF list?

Cloudicure

Hello hello all!

YAY for Friday! Unfortunately I work mostly the entire weekend. Poo. Anywho. This is what I have for you today!

I am really enjoying this but I messed up a bit. Can you see the ring finger? The french looks horrible and my accidentally somehow went unsteady and painted that little spot there. I only did one opaque base coat which I regret not doing 2 because there are bald spots. I didn't have enough time for it to dry, so it turned out a little rough with a few dents.

For the pink base coat I used one coat of Fuschia by Elf. Is it just me, but I feel like the Elf polishes literally take forever to dry. Seriously. Then I used a Sally Hansen Black Out (black polish) for the first set of clouds, then added Sally Hansen Blue Me Away! for the 2nd set of clouds. For the ring and thumb, I used Blue Me Away! and then added white acrylic paint for the dots. I didn't want to use regular white nail polish incase if it smeared. So there you have it! I hope you enjoy it. Have a wonderful weekend!

What do you think of Elf polishes?

Zoya Reece

I have this lovely color for you to see today!! I feel in love with this as soon as I saw it. Reece can be described as a "rose.muave metallic duochrome. A frosty hint of gold creates a unique 'oil-slick' rose-gold look."

Hopefully you can see the metallic finish in this. It is just so very lovely. The picture does this polish no justice. It's so much prettier in real life. I used 2 coats. One coat would've been ok but 2 coats is just perfect. I currently have this on my toes right now and I absolutely love it! It probably has to be one favorite polishes right now.

I don't know if it's just me, but I don't polish my toes in the winter because it's always covered up but now that Spring and Summer is around the corner, I have to polish them. Not only that, but I'm the kind of person where my pedicure HAVE TO match my manicure. Are any of you like that?

What do you think of the rose-gold metallic finish?

Twinsie Tuesday: Green Polish

Yay!It's that time again! Twinsie Tuesday! This weeks edition: green polish (week of St. Patrick's Day).

I honestly had no idea that St. Patrick's Day was this Saturday. I've never been the person to celebrate it - I actually never have my entire life. What do you usually do to celebrate this day? Anywho, green polish on our nails in honor of St. Patrick's Day!

Sorry for the late post, the funeral has got me messed up.

So, it looks really blue but the flakes really aren't. Anywho, I used Orly Lucky Duck in 2 coats. I think one would have done the job just I wanted 2 anyways. Then I used Sinful Colors Green Ocea and China Glaze Snow Globe at the tips. So what do you think? I think it's pretty ok. I couldn't catch the green side of the flakes, which really annoyed me - so sorry.

Orly Lucky Duck applied so perfectly, like butter! I love those kinds of polishes. Green Ocean was super chunky and dented up my nails, although it's such a pretty flake polish for only $1.99! I don't know if you can tell, but it was hard to apply. Snow Globe was fairly easy. Much easier than Green Ocean. And viola!

So what do you think?

Zoya Keiko

Yesterday was a BEAUTIFUL day! So I left the funeral early (also because of my baby and that I nurse) and went to my sisters because they were bbq'ing. When I arrived, all my sisters and brother's girlfriend were polishing their nails. And I was like "YAY! What else better could we do?!"

I am super sorry about the bad lighting. The sun went down already and I didn't have a decent place to take pictures. So I hope this isn't too bad.

This is Zoya Keiko. 2 coats. Keiko is a cool, magenta-purple with a lot berry/slight red tones and it's super creamy. I am really loving this color and think it's just perfect for Spring/Summer. It's just so creamy and delicious! Well, I hope everyone had a great weekend. Hopefully I will have time to do some nail art because I haven't done any nail art for a while. Til then!

DEAL Alert : Too Faced and CG

I ran to Ulta quickly because of the 21 Days of Spring Sale. I have super busy due to the funeral, but this was a must have!

 $20 orginally $36
 $13.95

There is always a $3.50 coupon on their website or when they send their magazines. So I pretty much got the 4 pack mini for only $10! I am super excited! The polishes in the mini were actually the only ones that I wanted in the collection. In the 4 pack the colors are: Fast Track, Agro, Smoke and Ashes, and Luxe and Lush. I have never even finished an entire bottle of nail polish, so for 4 bottles that contains .325 fluid ounce for about $10. Who can go wrong with that?

Are you planning to make a stop?

Zoya Gemma

Good last night of my Spring break Friday!

I'm preparing for a funeral this weekend and my husband asked me if I could paint a solid color (for the weekend). I think maybe just a day. The weekend is the only time where I can do my nails. So we will see how that goes. However this is what I have on for today - maybe tomorrow. I wasn't able to catch any sun to talk color accurate photos since it was a long busy day, but the picture of the polish is pretty close.

I thought this color combo is just super strange. Its a jelly, muted olive green base with a subtle blue and violet duochrome shimmer. I have never seem green, blue and violet together. Have you? For this, I used 3 coats and that was just ok. I think 4 would've looked much better and not so patchy. I think it's ok color definitely not one of favorites, but not every polish can be your favorite. Well, with that said, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

What do you think of the color combo?

Where Is The Party?

Happy Thursday! My Spring break is more than half way done - how I dread thinking about that.

Anywho, can someone tell me where the party is at?

Well, it's definitely in this tiny bottle of polish. So today I have this beautiful swatch for you. I picked this up at Ulta last night since I was in the area. Usually there is a $3.50 coupon so I wanted to wait for that because I forgot to bring it. But I decided to pick this up because it was only $.99! Who can go wrong with that? It's such a beautiful color.

I love it! Please excuse the bubbles and poor painting, hope you don't mind. Oh and the many pictures but I really wanted you see the beautiful duochrome. Where Is The Party? is a beautiful deep purple with a green'ish/grey duochrome. Even my husband commented on this polish! He said it was really cool and reminds him of a chameleon. It must be pretty cool because he rarely ever comments on my manicure.

I used 2 coats since 1 coat was just a little bit too sheer for me. I was actually surprised when I began the application. The brush isn't too shabby. I would say it's pretty nice for a $.99 polish. I honestly prefer the Essence brushes over Essie. The formula was ok. It was a little thick which made the application a little hard. At the tips of my nail when I brushed it out, it curled up and went the opposite direction. I'm not sure how to explain that but it was weird. Anywho, I hope you enjoyed this!

What do you think about this duochrome? Yay or nay?

I Have A Herring Problem

This is one of the newest polishes that I bought. It's actually from the last haul that I just posted. First, I didn't want to do a swatch because I feel like there are so many swatches. Then again, when aren't many swatches? So here it is! OPI I Have A Herring Problem.

I tried to get as close as it could to be accurate. But can I just say, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! I was sort of debating if I should buy this or not because it looked like just a pale blue with tiny micro silver shimmer. But when I swatched it on my nails, it's definitely a true gem. I Have  A Herring Problem is from OPI's Holland collection for Spring 2012. It's a dusty blue-ish grey with very finely milled micro silver, gold, blue shimmers. The finish almost seems like a glass fleck than shimmer. Regardless, this is such a beautiful color! I really hope you are able to see the different colors in the shimmer. Because when I was able to see it, it completely changed my mind. I am so glad that I purchased this!

This was applied with 2 coats. With one coat it was a little sheer. Two coats was semi-opaque but good enough for me. The formula was as smooth as butter and applied easily. It dried fairly quick. I am super impressed with this. So what do you think?

I just wanted to share this too. While I do my nails and I am blogging, this is what he does:

He has his own little desk.

So are you planning to pick this up or any other polishes from the Holland collection?
